Serum vs. Oil

When choosing a new skincare product, especially for your face, you probably have a lot of questions. Is oil good for dry skin? When do I use the serum? How much do I use? We’re here to provide answers and help you decide which product is right for you. While the Vitamin C Serum and Vitamin C Oil may look similar, they each have their own unique benefits. And when combined, magic happens (well, not quite magic, but something close).

How do you use the serum & oil?

Before anything, I recommend regular exfoliation to allow products to absorb properly in order to fully benefit from the rich ingredients.

Both products have the same application instructions. Pat 4-5 drops to a clean face in the morning and evening before moisturizer.

Some days I apply the oil first, wait a few minutes, and then apply the serum followed by moisturizer.

If I’m in a rush and need to apply makeup, I mix the serum with the oil. The serum works great as a base before makeup.

What’s the best time to use the serum vs. the oil?

I recommend daily use of the serum for all skin types.

Oil frequency depends on how much natural oil your face produces. Oil should be used every other day for someone who produces a lot of natural oil and daily for someone with dry skin. They both have strong properties needed for maximum hydration and natural glow. Even if you produce natural oil, the Hydra Queen oil will help balance it out.

Can you use the products together? In what order?

Absolutely! You get the benefits of both products working together for the health of your skin. If using both products I recommend using the oil first for someone who has less natural oil. For someone who has more oil I recommend mixing them equal parts.
